I saw a gorgeous picture of a poncho and felt inspired to knit one each for my girls. On holiday in Wales I found aran yarn which is 20% wool and feels nice and warm. Using contrast colour with number 11 needles (3.25 mm) cast on 175 stitches. Work 7 rows in garter stitch. Change to main colour and number 9 needles (3.75 mm) and work 60 rows in stocking stitch.
